Transition of
San Lorenzo Seminary
The
Friars of Our Lady of Angels Province are busy with the transition of
San Lorenzo Seminary. Presently a retreat house, in July San Lorenzo
will become the site of the novitiate for the provinces of the North
American and Pacific Capuchin Conference, which includes six U.S.
provinces, the provinces of Central Canada and Australia, and the Vice
Province of the Mariana Islands and Hawaii. At present, 27 postulants
are scheduled to arrive at San Lorenzo on July 23 to receive the
Capuchin Habit and begin their novitiate year. Pictured are members of
the formation team for the new novitiate:

Ciudad Juarez. Northern Mexico
I
arrived in Mexico on Feb. 7. I spent several days with Br. Joseph
Seraphin and the Capuchin Sisters in Ciudad Juarez. Northern Mexico
had a real cold snap just before I arrived, and many places were
without water because the pipes burst. This happened in Tres Ojitos,
too, at our novitiate, but by the time I got here Feb. 10 things were
better. I have been giving classes to our two novices, Bros. Javier
and Isaac, and helping with masses at the house, in the neighboring
towns, and with the Capuchin sisters in Ciudad Madera. It has been a
great stay. I will send another report and more photos later. God
bless!
